July 4!

Long overdue… and this is becoming a picture blog. Maybe this week will be better.

I recently joined a women’s center here in town to meet people and they offer gym-ish classes. Two days a week I take pilates and one day is just like an open gym time with the cardio and fitness equipment. Some observations:

1. Separate shoes for inside. (this I don’t mind)

2. You can’t run on the tredmills. It might make them break.

3. Ever heard of hot yoga? Where they have it at like 105 degrees? Well, here we do hot-lates…. it’s like a sauna in there!

4. The instructors are awesome, but make me feel like I’m in a USSR phys. ed class.

5. Bad, bad, bad music. It’s almost always in english and no one but me can understand the ridiculous amounts of cuss words.

6. On Tuesdays, I go at 12.45 and the call to prayer goes off halfway through class. No one budges.

7. It’s really more about laying on your mat relaxing than working out.

8. Apparently, you’re crazy if you get an appropirately sized fit ball. What are you thinking? That makes it hard!

9. Believe it or not, it’s actually a great place to make friends. Refer to number 7.

There are probably more, but that’s good for now. I only wish you could go with me and see for yourself how funny it is. Seriously.

Red, White and Green

So, this morning I woke up with this ridiculous pain in my lower back on the right side and it’s so annoying! The Photographer tried to get the muscle to relax, and it still hurt, then I tood some meds and it still hurt, so at this point I’m just praying it goes away by tomorrow.

Back up – yesterady, we stayed home almost all day and cleaned and put together new furniture until 7ish when we realized we were hungry and that it was actually dinner time. We had to rearrange our bedroom to make the new stuff fit with the old, but i LOVE it. We got this awesome red dresser at Ikea and it’s so great.

Ok, back to today. Back hurting. And tomorrow is July 4!! I told our teacher I’d make cupcakes to celebrate, so I did. And not to brag or anything, but they are quite possibly the best cupcakes I’ve eaten. But, we went to the store to find food coloring to make it more American looking and all they had was colored decorating icing… and it only comes in red, green, white and yellow. So, they don’t really look like Independence Day cupcakes, but they are 🙂

Um, we weren't sure what designs really looked "July 4"ish...

And, tomorrow is the celebration at the Services Support Center or whatever it is here and supposedly there are hot dogs (real ones), dr. pepper, mt. dew, etc. All the american goodies that you can’t get here! I’m really hoping my back is done spazzing by then 🙂
